betheprankster.livejournal.com[Delta Kappa Epsilon will be missing one (1) John Egbert this exam-cram night. The finals are within the next two weeks, but studying last minute is simply Not Allowed in the Egbertian world! He, of course, has all of the faith in his and Dib's study sessions, not matter how late they stay up!]
[John doesn't usually walk Dib to his room, instead bidding him goodbye in front of the dorm building and then returning to his frat house. This time, this night, he's decided to be a Good Gentleman and walk Dib up some stairs and stuff. Chivalrous, right? Right. So what if he's been text-pestering Karkat part of the walk there, it's still nice and gentlemanly, and hopefully flirtatious! (Also Karkat was being angry, which translates into "fucking funny" in John's mind.)]
[He, however, can't help but count the number of times they brush shoulders, knuckles, anything that resembles physical contact. John likes Dib, he likes him a lot, but when it comes down to it he's just not sure how much. Or...something, he hasn't quite figured it out. He's talked to Rose about his sexuality many times before, and in the most recent pesterlog she suggested he look at things from a different perspective; he could like Dib and still be mostly heterosexual. Something like that, John's not sure what this Kinsey guy was on or what his scale even means.]
[But if it essentially points to him being able to want to be more than Dib's friend without being totally homosexual? He can deal.]
[John clears his throat when they get to Dib's dorm, and he readjusts his bag on his shoulder.]
So--are you gonna be okay, Dib? I know it's been kind of hard lately, but it'll be over soon!
