Karkat is phobic and prone to panic attacks at the drop of a fuck, and Ryou's mental state is, while not exactly fragile on these new meds, a little unpredictable. So it was really the best idea to stay in the same dorm for all of college where it's quiet, people aren't puking in the halls or toilets all the time (that was what sucked about being one of two sets of rooms on either side of the bathrooms, you got to hear most of everything), and the most stressful thing that's a problem is when they leave their milk, labeled with their names, in the basement fridge and some asshats use it all to make...whatever.]
[And, really, that's all as normal as checking to see if Karkat's collar is still fitted alright, if Karkat is on the schedule Ryou set for him, and full-body kissing the stress away while Karkat is bound by his wrists and ankles, told to just breathe and not speak. Sometimes it's felt like restraining and calming a little beast, but Karkat is Ryou's bitey little beast and he knows all of the little secrets to soothing his insecurities.]
[Their array of stuff is...varied, to say the least, and over the years they seem to have just gradually gathered more and more. Ryou's still a little peeved he couldn't leave sticky tack on the walls to indicate where everything was last year, but for the most part he has a good memory and sets most of his and Karkat's usual decorations up on the walls with little issue. The restraints box is kept under Ryou's half of the conjoined beds for easy access, along with a large box containing Monster World, all the figurines he's crafted for it, and all the materials used for creating them.]
[Annoying and repetitive as the meetings have become in these past years, Ryou's patient with them. It's only an hour or so of information they've heard before, delivered with the exact urgency of a first-time RA every time, so there are no surprises there. Honestly they could probably skip out on it and it'd be fine, the sophomores seem more willing to leave them be than all the curious tiny freshmen anyway.]
