Zim - tangent (OA) [opposite/adjacent]
Dib - cotangent (AO) [adjacent/opposite]
Tak - sine => cosecant (OH => HO) [opposite/hypotenuse => hypotenuse/opposite]
Gaz - cosine => secant (AH => HA) [adjacent/hypotenuse => hypotenuse/adjacent]

Zim is tangent because he is a tangent all on his own, and often goes off on them.

Dib is the cotangent because of his particular obsessive nature, he sees "becoming the enemy" and doing what the "enemy" does is a perfectly acceptable mean to observation; he mirrors Zim.

Tak goes from sine to cosecant because she falls out of her place in the hemospectrum.

Gaz goes from cosine to secant because she "grew out of" the old handle.
